Mulberry Music Festival
Where? Townhouse Green at St. Mary’s College, St. Mary’s City
When? June 20th
The Mulberry Music Festival will be hosted at St. Mary’s College of Maryland on the Townhouse Green. This is a free event on Friday, hosted from 6:00 PM to 9:15 PM, with the grounds opening at 5:00 PM. Headlining artists include Dumpstaphunk, Carly Harvey, and the Kelly Bell Band. There will be a kid zone, complete with free activities such as face painting, hula hoops, a bubble station, and glitter and henna tattoos. This year’s festival is being dedicated to the founder of the Mulberry Music Festival, President Tuajuanda C. Jordan. Make sure you stick around for the fireworks following the show! There will be additional activities kicking off this Friday and through the weekend for St. Mary’s County Juneteenth Weekend.
Free Lakefest Weekend 2025
Where? Downtown Columbia Lakefront, Columbia
When? June 20th-22nd
The Columbia Festival is returning with a free Lakefest Weekend on the Downtown Columbia lakefront. Catch three exciting days of live music, kids’ entertainment and crafts, and an invitational fine arts and crafts show. There will also be a variety of activities for all ages and delicious festival food options. Check out the food truck and specialty options here. Lakefest hours are scheduled from 5:00 PM to 10:30 PM on Friday, 11:00 AM to 10:30 PM on Saturday, and 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM on Sunday. The Lakestage Music Lineup will feature the Ken Demith Collection, Half Gringa, Gaby Moreno, Zach Person, and many more exciting artists, groups, and ensembles.
Jazz & Wine Festival

Where? 100 Walter Thomas Drive, Indian Head
When? June 21st
The first annual Jazz & Wine Festival will be held this Saturday at the Village Green Park, starring Geno Marriott and The Spirit of Jazz. The event is scheduled from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Gates open at 2:00 PM and tickets are on sale for $50, so grab yours ASAP for a day of live music and great vibes. This is a rain or shine event and free parking will be available, so arrive early to get a prime spot! Tickets include admission only. There will be food trucks, vendors, and local wineries onsite and attendees are welcome to bring their own lawn chairs. Military members, veterans, and seniors can snag a discounted rate of $45. Mud Day

Mud Day at Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center is an exciting event for all ages! This Saturday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, join in on one of the most unusual events of the year. Learn about the importance of soil and the array of creatures that rely on soil to survive. There will be a variety of fun activities, such as mud painting, mud pies, tree faces, a mud kitchen, and the Mega Mud pit! Food vendors will be onsite and families are encouraged to pack like they’re going to the beach, with necessities such as chairs, towels, sunscreen, and an extra set of clothes. Grab your advance timed entry tickets, which are required for admittance to the garden and arts center. Tickets won’t be available at the gate. Guest passes cannot be used for Mud Day and member tickets will be priced at $7 and non-member tickets at $12. Kids ages 2 and under get in free. This is a rain-or-shine event.
Summer Concert Series: I&I Riddim (Rockin’ Reggae)

Frederick’s Summer Concert Series is held on Sundays in June, July, and August from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM in the Baker Park Bandshell. The community is invited to enjoy free, high-quality live musical entertainment throughout the summer, from tribute artists and oldies, to afrofunk and bluegrass artists. This summer series showcases professional musicians from a wide range of genres and backgrounds and previous performers in years past have included jazz legend Charlie Byrd, country chart-climber Cleve Francis, bluesman Tom Principato, and many more. ASL interpreters will be onsite for each performance! I&I Riddim is Washington DC’s three-time award-winning reggae band. Audiences will enjoy the energetic vocal stylings of Nickoli Andrews and the array of talented reggae musicians.

It’s nearly time for the 33rd Annual Giant BBQ Battle! The country’s best pit masters are making their way to the capital city to show off their unique set of skills and flavors. With 100+ food samples, along with music and plenty of entertainment, this is one of the best ways to spend a summer day in DC! Headliners for this year’s battle include The Chuck Brown Band, Junkyard Band, and Experience Unlimited. Bring out the whole family for a BBQ experience that you won’t soon forget. There will also be interactive cooking demonstrations, unique vendors selling craft beer and BBQ-themed merchandise, as well as engaging activities for everyone in attendance. Kids under the age of 12 are free!
Dallas Wings vs. Washington Mystics

Catch game day this Sunday as the Mystics take on the Wings at the CareFirst Arena! The game starts at 2:00 PM CDT. Both teams compete in the WNBA, with the Mystics being members of the Eastern Conference and the Wings being part of the Western Conference. When comparing head-to-head records, the Mystics have the edge so come on out and cheer extra loud for the home team! CareFirst Arena does not permit bags, backpacks, or purses — with the exception of wallet-size clutches and medical or parenting/diaper bags that meet specific size requirements. Les Misérables is coming to the Opera House at The Kennedy Center! Since its pre-Broadway run at the center back in 1986, Les Misérables has undoubtedly changed the world of musical theatre. Catch Cameron Mackintosh’s acclaimed production of this Tony Award-winning phenomenon making a grand return after enjoying a sold-out run in 2023. The show is set against the backdrop of 19th-century France and grasps audiences through an enthralling tale of broken dreams, unrequited love, passion, sacrifice, and redemption. For the 2025 season, catch the production sometime through July 13th! The show’s runtime is approximately 3 hours, including an intermission. There will be a limited number of $49 Rush tickets available at the Kennedy Box Office two hours before each performance on the day of (noon for Sunday matinees).

The annual Born to Be Wild Pollinator Festival is scheduled for this Saturday from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Banshee Reeks Nature Preserve in Leesburg. This is a family-friendly celebration of pollinators, dedicated to raising awareness about protecting natural areas. This free event will also feature hands-on activities, educational exhibits, festival games, native plants for purchase, and outdoor entertainment including lawn games, music, face painting, and much more. Hope Flower Farm and Winery is excited to host their first Hope Market this weekend from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday. There will be an array of wonderfully talented vendors onsite offering homemade goods, unique pieces of art, delicious bites, wellness products, and much more. The tasting room will be open for guests to enjoy wine and cider and there is a gift shop selling farm fresh flowers and gifts. This weekend will feature live music from the Ribbon Rail Ramblers on Saturday from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and from Jessica Allossery on Sunday from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Saturday will also feature the California Taco Truck and on Sunday, grab a bite from Timber Pizza!
Philippine Independence Day Festival

The Philippine Independence Day Festival (Phil Day Fest) is back for its second year! Hailing as the largest Filipino festival in the area, this is a can’t-miss weekend event for those who want to celebrate Philippine Independence. The festivities will feature two stages of entertainment, food vendors and trucks serving up street food favorites, desserts, and other Asian and Asian-inspired cuisine, as well as a kid’s corner with inflatables, face painting, and splash zones to cool off! Attendees can also explore the cultural tents and hands-on activities like free paint sessions, coffee art, friendship bracelet making, a plant bar and so much more. You can even shop from handmade crafts, jewelry, clothing, and artwork vendors. If you really want to get into the spirit, get on stage for karaoke!
