Foodie Fridays

Where? 11410 Old Georgetown Road, North Bethesda
When? June 27th
Foodie Fridays are organized by the Montgomery Parks Community Garden Program. The monthly speaker series is hosted from June through September, highlighting an array of food-related topics in the county. Events are held on the 4th Friday of the month, from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. Attendees can check in and enjoy refreshments for the first half hour of the event, with the speakers beginning promptly at 7:00 PM. There will be a Q&A to follow the presentations, so save your questions for the end. This Friday, the topic will cover “Farming: Inputs & Production.” If you’ve ever wanted to know where your food really comes from, then start with the soil, seeds, and the stories behind it all. Marcey Guramatunhu is the co-owner of Chirandu Farm and she will be discussing her experience and the pride she holds in celebrating heritage while providing wholesome produce to the local community and beyond.
St. Mary’s Freedom Fest

Where? 42455 Fairgrounds Road, Leonardtown
When? June 28th
The St. Mary’s Freedom Fest is taking place at the St. Mary’s County Fairgrounds in Leonardtown this Saturday. Admission is free and the gates open at 5:00 PM, with fireworks scheduled at dark (approximately 9:20 PM). The entertainment lineup this year will feature an Uncle Sam stilt walker, as well as the Ultimate Dog Stunt Show featuring The Joy Crew at 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM. There will also be a mobile petting zoo open from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, as well as craft vendors, kids activities, watermelon eating, and more! Parking will be limited, so carpooling is encouraged! Attendees are welcome to bring folding chairs and blankets but are asked to leave the coolers at home.
13th Annual Frederick Pride



Where? Carroll Creek Linear Park, Frederick

The 2025 Frederick Pride Parade is nearly here! This Saturday at Carroll Creek Linear Park from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM, show your support for the local community and participate in one of the largest Pride festivals in Maryland! The mission behind the parade is dedicated to acknowledging and celebrating the anniversary of the 1969 Stonewall Riots. The streets of Downtown Frederick will be filled with members of the LGBTQ+ community, as well as their supporters, friends, and allies. Expect floats from local organizations, clubs, and drag queens, as well as a live marching band, cheer performances, and live music from the top of the MD double-decker bus by Emma Viivaca. The parade will be hosted rain or shine and onlookers can line up anywhere along the parade route. Chairs and/or blankets are recommended.
Summer Field Market at Wildberry
Where? 1047 Saint Stephens Church Road, Crownsville

The Summer Field Market is an outdoor market taking place at Wildberry Farm + Market this Saturday. Support Wildberry and other local small businesses from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Shoppers can enjoy a hot breakfast and coffee from the Wildberry Farm to Table food truck. Admission is free and leashed dogs are allowed. Markets are held every Saturday from mid-June through the end of August, so make a plan to swing by and grab some goodies! Whether you’re in the market for plant starts, seasonal produce, farm fresh eggs, or other farm goods, you’re sure to go home with something! There is no rain date for the market.
26th Annual Heritage Days Weekend

This Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, enjoy Heritage Days. This free festival is held annually on the last weekend of June, highlighting historic, cultural, and outdoor recreation sites that offer special programs, including exhibits and demonstrations. Attendees can enjoy live music, children’s activities, and much more. This is a prime opportunity to enjoy smaller sites that may not be regularly open to the public. 2025 marks the 26th annual Heritage Days weekend. The countywide festival has something for visitors of all ages and interests! Whether you celebrate Heritage Days by hiking or cycling in a local park, visiting a farm market, or taking one of the various tours — there are a multitude of ways to explore the rich history throughout Montgomery County!
Downtown Columbia Maker Faire

This Sunday, swing by the Downtown Columbia Maker Faire. This is a family-friendly showcase of all things invention, creativity, and resourcefulness. The Faire will be held at Merriweather Park at Symphony Woods from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM. From engineers, artists, scientists, and crafters — this will be a venue to show off hobbies, experiences, projects, and even careers. The Inner Arbor Trust is organizing this event, which will showcase workshops, demonstrations, and presentations on painting, sculpting, robotics, digital art, and much more. Seating will be available on the lawn or at picnic tables. Attendees are welcome to bring a blanket or rent a lawn chair for $5.
Cars and Coffee

Annapolis Cars and Coffee is a favorite amongst area gearheads and car enthusiasts of all ages. Held every Sunday, year-round, this is a weekend staple for many. Devon Walker will be at the DC Improv Comedy Club for two nights only, with general admission tickets priced at $25 and reserved seats ranging from $35 to $40. Friday and Saturday will each feature two showtimes at 7:00 PM and 9:30 PM. Walker originally hails from Austin, Texas but has frequented the national stage since 2022 as a cast member of Saturday Night Live. His sharp material combined with his laid-back style of delivery will delight audiences of all backgrounds. Patrons must be 18 or older and there is a two-item minimum per customer, which can be met with any combination of food items or beverages.
D.C. United vs Nashville SC

D.C. United is taking on Nashville SC at Audi Field this Saturday at 7:30 PM. D.C. United is an American professional soccer club based out of the capital city. The club competes in Major League Soccer as a member of the Eastern Conference. The club has won four MLS Cups, as well as four Supporters’ Shields, three U.S. Open Cups, and six Eastern Conference championships. The team plays home games at Audi Field. The Foodees Food & Culture Festival will showcase over 40 food trucks and vendors serving up tasty gourmet dishes and sweet treats, as well as dozens of artisans showcasing their handmade goods, from jewelry, art, crafts, and more! The festival will feature a vibrant community atmosphere with activities for all ages. Friday’s hours will run from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Saturday and Sunday’s festival hours will both kick off at 11:00 AM and run until 9:00 PM and 7:00 PM, respectively. Registration is free and optional for those who want to receive updates on new vendors and schedule changes.
8th Annual Alexandria Pride Fair

The annual Alexandria Pride Fair will be hosted this Saturday from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Join the celebration at the city’s Market Square, which is in front of Alexandria City Hall. The event will provide integral information about LGBTQ+ inclusive services in the city, as well as about free and confidential health testing. Families can enjoy story time inside City Hall from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, as well as art and poetry workshops, music, refreshments, and themed swag. There is no cost to register or admission charged for the fair, so just come on out and enjoy the inclusive community atmosphere!
Lake Fairfax Fireworks, Food, and Family Fun

While it’s not quite the 4th of July yet, it’s never too soon to kick off fireworks for the summer season! Enjoy this spectacular show over Lake Fairfax this Saturday from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM, with tickets priced at $25 at the gate or $20 for advance vehicle parking. This annual fireworks show will begin shortly after 9:00 PM and attendees are encouraged to arrive early to find a parking spot and settle into their seats! Bicyclists and pedestrians can enter for free. There will be food trucks onsite throughout the day and all picnic areas will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
A Hometown Celebration

Join in on the fun at A Hometown Celebration this Sunday at the Veterans Amphitheater in Fairfax, located adjacent to City Hall.
