Say hello to spring this weekend in Maryland with the Montgomery County GreenFest or the Celtic Festival of Southern Maryland. The region will also feature the annual Day of the Book Festival and the Spring Sailboat Show in Annapolis for those who can’t wait to spend the summer on the water.
2025 Annapolis Spring Sailboat Show

The Annapolis Spring Sailboat Show is returning to the historic seaport town this weekend to showcase new and brokerage boats, such as catamarans, family cruisers, daysailers, inflatables, and more. Whether you’re in the market for a new boat or you want to shop for gear and equipment, the showcase is a great way to spend your weekend afternoon! Enjoy live entertainment, seminars, and even a festival-tasting tent! Cap off your day by visiting one of the local restaurants, shops, and bars that are situated just a few steps from the show gates. Weekend hours for this City Dock show are scheduled from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Friday and Saturday and 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Sunday. General admission is priced at $20 and children under 15 are free.
Quiet Waters Park Earth Day

Celebrate Earth Day at Quiet Waters Park this Saturday from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Join the Friends of Quiet Waters Park for guided walks and learn about ways in which you can lend a helping hand to the environment. A bird walk will be hosted at 9:00 AM (registration required) and there will be an invasive species pull at 10:00 AM, where attendees can help remove invasive vines in the park. Additional activities include a Woodland Walk, Forest Bathing, and exciting exhibits such as the kaleidoscope sculpture, live raptors and weed-eating goats, and a rain barrel demo at 11:00 AM!
Montgomery County GreenFest

The Montgomery County GreenFest is celebrating 10 years in 2025! This is the largest environmental festival in the county and it’s made possible each year by a joint effort between government and nonprofit partners. This Saturday from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, head over to the Marian Fryer Town Plaza to enjoy this county-wide festival. Check out 60+ exhibitors, along with activities and a battery recycling drop off! There will be events across various locations in the county and plenty of opportunities to volunteer with set up, activities, traffic control, breakdown, and more. Celtic Festival of Southern Maryland

This Saturday, experience Southern Maryland’s Celtic Festival in Jefferson Patterson Park. Gates will be open from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, rain or shine! Enjoy the sounds of bagpipes and dive into delicious food while you jam out to music and dance to classic tunes. There’s truly something for everybody, including historical displays, craft demonstrations, and living history reenactments. Patrons can also shop the Celtic Marketplace for traditional and non-traditional Celtic foods and gifts. General admission prices are $30 at the gate and children ages 6 to 12 are $5. Younger kiddos get in free with an adult ticket. Kiddos will love the children’s activities and the exciting competitions, such as rugby, drummers, pipe bands, and more. No cash will be accepted at the gate, so make sure you have your credit card!
Kinderfest 2025

Kinderfest will be held in Watkins Regional Park this Saturday from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM. This is an all-ages event that will feature live entertainment and games for the whole family. Kids will love the train and carousel rides, as well as the hands-on nature activities. Admission options range from the $5 Wonder World of Watkins Limited wristband, which includes unlimited access to the train, mini golf, the carousel, and face painters, and the $15 Kinderfest All-Access wristband that provides unlimited access to all amenities for all-day fun. Wristbands must be purchased on-site.
18th Annual Kensington Day of the Book Festival

The 18th Annual Kensington Day of the Book Festival is a family-friendly affair that spans three blocks of Howard Avenue. Patrons will have plenty of opportunities to meet authors and poets, as well as interact with literary and community organizations. Additionally, there will be live music across several stages and guest speakers, poetry readings, cookbook demonstrations, and even children’s programming. Other festival highlights include the chess challenge, free books from BookCrossing, a wandering magician, and a panel discussion and Q&A with authors Ted Leavengood, Gregory H. Wolf, and Paul Scimonelli.
Taste of Southern Maryland

The 2025 Taste of Southern Maryland is scheduled for this Sunday from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Maryland Veterans Museum at Patriot Park. Celebrate the culture of Calvert, Charles, and St. Mary’s counties and join in on the fun with food, drinks, live bands, artisans, and even a silent auction! Admission is priced at $10 and kids ages 12 and under are free. All proceeds go directly towards benefitting the museum. This event is designed to highlight Southern Maryland’s best businesses, while also encouraging the community to come together and enjoy time well spent. The rain date for this year’s festival is May 4th.
Fairy & Gnome Home Festival

Reserve your tickets ASAP for the Fairy & Gnome Home Festival this Sunday from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Ticket prices are $12 per person online and $17 at the gate. Kids ages 2 and under are free, as are members of the Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center. The festival will feature unicorn rides, a petting zoo, nature crafts, and an array of magical characters that will delight kiddos of all ages. Dress up in your best fantasy outfits (fairy wings optional) and experience the most magical day of the year in Solomons. Enjoy this year’s expanded marketplace, new food vendors, and axe-throwing for all ages! There will also be sword fighting demonstrations, a participatory drum circle, and acrobatic and twirling fairies. DC’s 8th annual Chocolate Festival is making its return this Friday and Saturday at the La Maison Française at the Embassy of France. The festival celebrates all things chocolate with artisan treats from 30+ vendors. This two-day affair invites guests to meet chocolate makers and chocolatiers, learn about the process, and of course — eat lots of chocolate! Additional treats include beverages, craft chocolate bars, and a range of delicious confections with your name on them. $25 tickets are sold for specific time slots, ranging from Friday afternoon, Saturday morning, and Saturday afternoon, and kids under the age of 12 are free. DC Wine Fest: Spring Edition

This spring, run the 3rd Annual Anything’s PAWSible 5K in Manassas. The festival celebrates all things mobility and helps children with disabilities acquire service dogs. There will be food, drink vendors, live music, raffles, a silent auction, and plenty of fun for the kids. Spend the afternoon in the bounce houses, visiting with Disney characters and getting your face painted. Medals will be awarded to participants as they cross the finish line and strollers, dogs, and mobility devices are warmly welcomed. Kids ages 5 and under are free, kids 5 to 17 are $15, and adults ages 18 and older are $30. There’s even a virtual 5K Fun Run option!
7th Annual OysterFEST & Seafood Extravaganza

This year marks the 7th annual OysterFEST at Settle Down Easy Brewing. Grab your tickets ASAP because this event is sure to be a hot one this weekend. This Saturday from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM, dive into oysters, lobster rolls, crab cakes, steamed shrimp, and more. The seafood extravaganza will run from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM or until the food is gone! Other tasty bites include hotdogs, brats, and pretzels, as well as plenty of sides. Dress your oysters with lemon juice, cocktail sauce, hot sauce, vinegar, and horseradish, and don’t forget to crush a few cold ones while you’re at it. This Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, enjoy this highly anticipated springtime affair located in the heart of Clarendon. There will be a stunning variety of handmade artwork that has been thoughtfully selected by a rigorous vetting process. Patrons will be amazed at the diversity of artistic mediums, from sculptures, jewelry, photography, paintings, and much more. Bluebell Music Festival

The Winery at Bull Run is hosting the Bluebell Music Festival this Sunday from 11:00 AM to 6:30 PM. This is a once-a-year fundraiser that features a lineup of talented musicians, food trucks, artisan vendors, and of course, delicious wine! This year’s musical talent will open with The Front Porch Rockers, before showcasing the On Tap Band and headliners The Rowdy Ace Band. The Bluebell Music Festival is a free event and open to all. Food will be available for purchase from the Two Smooth Dudes Food Truck, Kona Ice, The Bull Run Winery Pizza Shack, and FOUR GUYS food truck. Invite your friends and family and enjoy a laid-back day of good music, good food, and even better wine! The festival helps to benefit the winery’s charity partner, Making Everything Good (M.E.G.), which helps support first responders, active duty military and veterans, along with their families.
